A view across Lowestoft harbour to the entrance of the trawl basin in the morning.

A view across Lowestoft harbour to the entrance of the trawl basin. Within the basin, numerous sailing trawlers have their sails set, while others are still under bare poles. These include the ketch-rigged trawler 'Boy Ernie' (1905) [LT282], and trawler LT873. The ketch-rigged trawler 'Sunshine' (1902) [LT959] can be seen alongside the outer wall of the basin with her main sail set.

The original negative envelope was titled 'Morning at the quay'.
