A painted earthenware figure group depicting a sailor and lass. She sits on a wall on a grassy mound wearing a pink overdress and floral petticoat, red shoes and a bonnet. The sailor kneels on the wall, handing her a full purse, a box marked 'DOLLARS' is placed beneath his foot. He has a blue jacket, red waistcoat, grey trousers and a black neckerchief, hat and his hair is worn in a pigtail. The group stands on a brown base inscribed 'Return'.
