P&O: cream jug

An Elkington plate cream jug. The jug has a bowl shaped base with a narrow neck and the collar is engraved with a circlet of laurel leaves. There is a slight indent in the neck for the pouring spout. The jug is engraved of the Peninsular & Oriental Steamship Navigation Company rising sun crest and the monogram "PO". The handle is engraved with a geometric design and zigzag and spotted pattern. The maker's marks are engraved on the base of the jug. There are slight dents in three places on the jug.
