Block of wood
Small block of wood inscribed 'Pieces of Buonapartes coffin brought from St Helena by Captn Proctor'. Possibly Ambrose Frederick Proctor (1787-1858), who called at the island in 1827 and 1832 whilst in command of HEIC 'Windsor'. The item does not appear to have been buried and may be an offcut.
