A view from the deck of the light cruiser HMS Aurora (1913) towards Dover castle on the Eastern Heights above Dover. To the left are two unidentified merchant ships at anchor in the harbour. Their bows are out of the photograph.

Aurora visited Dover a number of times during 1915-1917 while on patrol off the French and Dutch coasts.

The negative has some scratches at the top and bottom of the image.
