In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board

1. During the late expedition before Brest, several seamen from various shallops were captured by the French. They are to receive allowances for their clothing, provided that they can produce certificates from their Commanders or Officers.
2. Captain Dunbar, erstwhile Commander of the ST. NICHOLAS, Machine Vessel, which was blown up before Dieppe, claims that his journals and papers were lost because he did not have a boat to bring off his men until half an hour before leaving her. He is to be paid his wages for his time in command, subject to his making an affidavit.
