Nizam (1873)
A whole plate negative. A starboard side view, taken from just ahead of the beam, of the passenger/cargo liner Nizam (1873) at moorings in Gravesend Reach, River Thames. She has an auxiliary barquentine rig with two yards on her foremast and is flying the blue peter. Her light line to the mooring buoy is ready for slipping. Her accommodation ladder is still deployed and a tug is alongside her port side aft. Tilbury is in the background. The original negative has peeled and been discarded. A safety sheet film copy negative has been produced from a 12x10 photographic print made from the original negative in the 1950s.
