She was the first woman we know who circumnavigated the world, but few people know her story. Born in 1740 in France, Jeanne Baret lived an incredible life. In 1766, she set sail on a voyage to the Pacific Ocean to collect new and exotic plants with the botanist Philibert Commerson. But the journey was far from easy.
