A classic guide to the sky tonight presented in real-time by an astronomer using our digital planetarium.
Find out what the night sky has to offer in the month ahead, in this traditional planetarium show presented live by a Royal Observatory astronomer.
** Between 1- 23 December this show will be running as The Sky Tonight: Christmas Stars, the usual guide to the winter night sky from a live presenter, but with a Christmas flavour **
THE IAPY MICROSHOW - A 5 minute short show will be screened after every showing of The Sky Tonight. It features a selection of the best entries to this year’s Insight Astronomy Photographer of the Year competition, and will be narrated live by an astronomer, who will explore different aspects of astrophotography and the special features of the most exciting images.
Arriving at the Planetarium
The Planetarium is part of the Royal Observatory, located on a hill with spectacular views across London. Please allow enough time to get to us and aim to arrive at least 10 mins before a show’s start time, as latecomers cannot be admitted.
The Planetarium is open daily, except for the first Tuesday of every month when it is closed for essential maintenance.
