What does your work involve?

I wear many hats! While my experience may categorise me as an award-winning social impact entrepreneur, creative producer, business consultant, educator, community builder and international public speaker, at my core, I’m a storyteller. Through various mediums, I use my platform to amplify the voices of marginalised communities, shedding light on their experiences and advocating for their inclusion.

What inspires you?

Whether it’s through educating, film, writing, audio or any other creative outlet, my purpose remains the same: to tell the stories that often go untold and to amplify the voices that are often silenced.

I believe in the power of storytelling to foster empathy, build compassion, challenge stereotypes and ignite social change. It’s through these narratives that we can bridge divides, build understanding among diverse communities and work towards a future where everyone’s stories are seen, heard and valued.

Since launching my business in 2016, I have had the privilege of meeting extraordinary people from all walks of life. These interactions have reinforced the significance of collaboration and the power of diversity in driving positive change, and endlessly inspire me to push boundaries and challenge the status quo.

While people talk about generational trauma, I want to recognise the generational strength that has shaped my existence. It is a testament to the unwavering resilience of my family and ancestors, who faced immense adversity, carving a path for me to be here in this moment. Their struggles and sacrifices serve as a reminder to me to utilise my platform responsibly.

What message would you give to the next generation?

You have remarkable potential to shape the world and create positive change. The challenges and opportunities before you may seem daunting, but remember that you are not alone and, in fact, you’re part of a rich tapestry of individuals who have come before you, overcoming adversity and blazing trails.

Recognise the power of your voice and the significance of your stories. Each one of you is a unique thread in the fabric of humanity, with a perspective and experiences that deserve to be heard. It is through sharing our narratives that we can challenge stereotypes, break down barriers and build bridges of understanding, which will ultimately make the world a better place.
