In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board

Captain Joseph Welby, commanding the LIZARD, at Milford, has no beer on board and the local brewer is unable to supply the quantity required with in a reasonable time. What beer had been available was all supplied to the JOLLY and the SHEERNESS. The brewer has been prevented from building up a stock of beer because of a want of casks in which to store it. Captain Welby also reports that the officers' stores he should have been supplied with are not available at Milford but only from Bristol or Bideford.
No date recorded. Signed by Joseph Welby, Captain of the LIZARD.
