What happens when you take away everything except sound?
in the dark is a groundbreaking immersive live experience that invites audiences to step into complete darkness, where music becomes the only guide.
With no visual distractions, every note, every breath and every movement takes on new meaning. Performed by a talented ensemble of live musicians surrounding the audience, each show is designed to heighten your senses and create a deeply personal connection with the music.
No two audiences are ever the same. In the darkness, you become part of the performance.
PULSE
PULSE is the next chapter of in the dark. Building on everything audiences loved about HUSH, PULSE explores rhythm, movement and connection through an entirely new live experience, featuring the same exceptional musicians and immersive approach.
No distractions. No expectations. Just you, the music, and everything you'll discover along the way.
How does 'in the dark' work?
The space is in total darkness. You'll be seated throughout, and given a sleep mask at the start for full immersion. Around you, 30 world-class musicians will perform - but this isn't a concert, it's something else entirely.
The music doesn't come from a stage - it will move and surround you in multiple different ways throughout the experience. It’s intimate and three-dimensional, and without lights or distractions will absorb you and your mind in an entirely new way.
Some of the music you may recognise, much you won't, but the theme is life and love. Audiences have described it as mystifying, sublime, stunning, immersive, beautiful, transcendent, and more.
It’s not just a performance; it’s a journey - one that lingers long after the final note fades. So, if you’re ready to stop, to truly listen, and to let your ears take the lead, don’t miss ‘in the dark.’ It’s an hour of pure, unadulterated magic - a reminder that sometimes, the most extraordinary experiences are the ones we can’t see"

Which seats should I choose?
in the dark treats sound differently from any other music performance you're likely to have experienced. In conventional performances the sound comes from one direction and everyone hears the same. In contrast, at this Cutty Sark show, around thirty performers will be performing in multiple positions around, through and amongst the audience… all without amplification. The hull of the ship becomes an instrument itself, and every single person in the room will hear something different.
Tier A - the best seats in the house, where you're surrounded with performers and the instruments and voices have the most intense clarity, closeness and impact… the real heart of the sound.
Tier B – still in the main performance area underneath the hull of the ship, but more distant from the centre of the sound. The performers still move around you, but the clarity and definition is one step removed. Still immersive, just a little less clear and close.
Benches – positioned side-on to the soundscape, where you will still hear the movement of the music, but where we can't get the musicians completely around you… think more 180° than 360°.
Seating is unreserved within the different tiers/benches.
