In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board

Extract of a letter from Captain Hartnell. Dated from on board his Majesties Ship the KINSALE at Plymouth May 4th 1701. The manning the Ship with that Expedition I have done it without any manner of Assistance with a Tender or otherwise has put me to great Expenses, part of which the Navy Board has been pleased to Order Commissioner St Loe to reimburse me, and for that I am appointed for the West Indies. The Laying out of so much, has in some measure disappointed me for making that provision for the voyage as otherwise I should have done. I therefore desire you will move their Lordships that they will please to give directions that I may be reimbursed (for that part yet unaccounted for) before I go hence, not knowing that I shall have an Opportunity to adjust the Account anywhere else.
