The first bundle contains 2 detailed letters about the textile industry, the first dated Glasgow 20 March 1830, the second July 1830, both to his siblings, with a tabular note about the prices of various textiles dated Leghorn 27 September 1830; the second bundle contains part of a note in pencil and ink about buying and selling textiles, a draft letter to Uncle John agreeing to manage his affairs for a time on certain conditions which he lists, and part of a letter to Thomas (no surname given) about getting a bill passed into law.
