Account by J. Morton, 29 April to 19 May 1942.
Account by J. Morton, 29 April to 19 May 1942, (3 copies). Writing at Kyoukmyoung: "Mandalay was evacuated yesterday, the IFC being the last to go... with having to move so much for the Army we were unable to get many of our own - abandoned - vessels away. I saw 38 sunk and then I had to leave". He goes on to describe which vessels were sunk over the following days, and an account of his own voyage, stopping off at deserted villages for supplies on the way to Calcutta.
