Photographs of the recto and verso of a printed letter from Hoste to Fremantle.
The photographs show a framed document, with the back of the frame removed to reveal a manuscript note signed by Captain William Hood on the verso of the letter. The letter, headed HM Ship BACCHANTE at anchor off Guila Nova, June 12th, 1813, concerns the outcome of a battle between Royal Naval forces and a Neapolitan flotilla under the direction of French Officers.
