Correpsondence between Lecky, Guy Hemsley and Philip Allan.

Correpsondence between Lecky, Guy Hemsley and Philip Allan regarding the possiblity of Philip Allan & Co Ltd publishing 'The King's Ships'. Includes a letter from Lecky to Philip Allan, outlining the history and current status of 'The King's Ships'. The letter includes details of how the original publisher Horace Muirhead went bankrupt after World War I and then died, and his widow putting publication of 'The King's Ships' into the hands of two men who proved to be untrustworthy, leading to Lecky cancelling the agreement with them, but meaning that a lot of stock was left with the printers which they were threatening to destroy.
