In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board
Enclosure: Copy of a letter and an Order from Viscount Sydney in which he complains of being by-passed by not being consulted by Naval Officers at Kinsale over the need to get timber cut in Cork and Wexford over to England before the onset of Winter and advocates hiring ships in England for that purpose as a ship purpose-built in Ireland may not be ready. Also included in this copy item is an Order by Sydney to the Clerk of the Cheque at Kinsale relating to difficulties with the raising of the SWALLOW and the retrieval of Anchors and Cables belonging to the BREDAH, suggesting ways in which the problems may be solved. Copy attested by James Southerne, Admiralty Board Secretary.
