Logbook of the WINCHELSEA, kept by John Dykes while he was master of the frigate under Commander Edward Pellew, at the Newfoundland station. At the back of the logbook Dykes has written an index of the places mentioned in his log, along with information for each place including directions for sailing, marks for anchoring, wooding and watering, provisions and refreshments, fortifications and landing places and trade shipping.
