Correspondence by William Young on HM Brig WOLVERINE including Chinese Anti-Opium Tract
File includes seven letters by William Young, purser's steward on HM Brig WOLVERINE, dating from 1840s to 1940s. Also contains an Anti-Opium Tract in Chinese script, dated 1900 [reading from right to left]: Written by Yang Gefei, "How to cure the addiction of opium", outlining the harms of opium; middle column contains a Christian prayer; left column translates as "Chinese medicine prescription for curing opium addiction].
