In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board

No date recorded. A humble Petition of the Under Clerks and other Inferior Officers belonging to the Navy Office, stating that the present Taxes upon their Salaries being very high, and their Salaries but barely a Maintenance, does fall very hard upon them, insomuch that they are hardly capable of maintaining themselves and families without some ease and relief from your Lordships. They stand in worse case in this matter than the Inferior Officers in the Custom-house and Excise Office.
