Administrative / biographical background
Mira Mohiuddin was born in Madras, India. He became a merchant seamen at Calcutta in the late 1920s or early 1930s and was employed as an able seaman. He served on convoys during the Second World War, for which he received four campaign medals: the 1939-45 Star, the Atlantic Star, the Italy Star and the War Medal 1939-45. He died in London in 1973.
