In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board

Enclosure: Copy of a letter from Captain Morrice, Commander of the ROYAL TRANSPORT at Gravesend, in which he responds to Orders to report on the state the ship's complement and informs that his predecessor, Captain Ripley, had recorded a number of Men as having deserted but have now returned from leave with the exception of William Jackson who lodges at a nearby inn and John Carter who is said to have been press-ganged to the NAMURE while on his way to rejoin the ROYAL TRANSPORT. Morrice adds a footnote asking for the Men's records to be corrected as they reported regularly to the ship when not serving aboard. Signed by Captain Morrice.
