Foolscap notebook 'Recapitulation and Cargo', 1935-1938

Voyage records: Notebook used by Thompson as a deck officer on vessels owned by the Asiatic Steam Navigation Co. Ltd., between 1935 and 1938. At the beginning of this period Thompson was second mate on the NURJEHAN (1923). The volume contains technical details of vessels including bunker, cargo and water ballast capacities; summaries of voyages with distances travelled and weights of cargoes handled at each port; together with notes and calculations relating to navigation, tides and weather. There are some loose items inserted, including a capacity plan and deadweight scale for the sisterships PASHA (1919) and PUNDIT (1919), and distance tables for ports on the island of Java.
