Vellum-bound log of HMS HARRIER kept by John Harding, Master's Assistant, during the patrol cruise along the South American coast from the Rio del Plata to the mouth of the Amazon, visiting Buenos Aires, Montevideo, Rio de Janeiro, Bahia and Pernambuco, 24 December 1856 to 7 September 1859. Containing illustrations including a plan of the vessel's hold, manuscript charts and two coastal profiles.
