French document: receipt of Anthoine Dumesnil, Captain of the ship NEF: for circa 90 tons belonging to Jehan Magnet, for victualling supplied by Jehan Lalomet, Conseiller du Roi and Receveur General De Ses Finances, who was charged with making payment for the extraordinary expenses of the King's wars and fleet in Normandy.

The document is signed by Dumesnil and by contrerolleur, Primandaye. The provisions for a period of two months next following for 80 men, soldiers and sailors on the king's service, included biscuit (1333 dozens), fresh bread (16 dozens), and flour (half a pipe), wine (one and a half pipes), cider (twenty-six pipes), beer (13 pipes), salt meat (4 pipes), fresh meat (half an ox), one sheep, herring (three barrels), mackarel (two barrels), butter (334 lbs), candles (117 Ibs), tallow (160 Ibs), 214 logs of wood, and half a barrel of verjuice and a barrel of salt. A NEF or carrack chip was a three or four-mast ocean-going sailing ship that was developed in the 13th to 15th centuries in Europe.
