General and Small Collections
Seven small groups of documents are contained in this section. Examples include papers relating to William Ashmore (1847-1870), captain's servant, who was drowned when the CAPTAIN foundered in 1870; these are Certificates of Service, papers relating to his pension and the relief fund for the disaster, as well as letters and photographs. Another example is the administrative papers relating to the Royal Naval Air Station at Calshot, Hampshire, 1914 to 1915, belonging to Lieutenant (later Air Chief Marshall Sir) Arthur Longmore (1885-1970).
