Journal of Captain Sir Henry Byam Martin, Aide de Camp to the Queen, kept as a flag officer under Sir Charles Napier during the Anglo-French naval operations against the Russians in the Baltic, 4 March - 29 July 1854, includes observations on the conduct of Napier as C-in-C, on relations with the French, problems of navigation and communications, and references to the siege and destruction of the fortress at Bomarsund, some contemporary newspaper cuttings are included.
