Sonnet by W J A of Lyme Regis to Captain McClure, RN, the discoverer of the North-West Passage. This sonnet, written by a member of the public, sings the praises of McClure for discovering the North-West Passage. It shows the widespread public interest in the Arctic at the time of the Franklin search expeditions.
