Administrative / biographical background
The items come from the collection of Nelsoniana owned by Sir Henry Sutcliffe Smith (1864-1938). Sutcliffe Smith worked in the Bradford textile industry and was executive director of the Bradford Dyers Association. He was chairman of the local Conservative Association and the Bradford branch of the National Lifeboat Association.
