The diaries of John Tillett edited and transcribed by his great grandson. Born in Norfolk in 1842, Tillett went to sea in 1859. HMS Sidon patrolled the Mozambique Channel stopping vessels suspected of carrying enslaved people. Also included is the text of an article which appeared in Lloyds Weekly News in 1913 based on an interview with Tillett and describing events during this period.
