"This is the story of the 39 Castle Class corvettes which played such a vital role in countering the U-Boat threat during the latter stages of the Battle of the Atlantic. From 11th December 1943 to 6th June 1945 they escorted 237 ocean convoys comprising 1,200 merchant ships sailing. Onle ten merchant ships were lost by enemy action.
