Commencing with a description of early services between the Isle of Man and the mainland, this is an illustrated history of the Isle of Man Steam Packet Co. from its foundation in 1832. The narrative concludes in 2011 with the transfer of the company's ownership from Macquarie to the holding company Sealion (Isle of Man) Ltd financed and controlled by a group of banks led by Banco Espirito Santo. The illustrations of the vessels, their interiors and promotional material are fully captioned.
