Lord Nelson : tracing the hero's features /George Wilkins

A book by Nelson aficionado and collector George Wilkins, aiming to determine which of the extant likenesses of Nelson is the most accurate. Wilkins makes a detailed comparative study of a number of different portraits, life masks, busts, medals, and miniatures, ultimately arguing that the truest currently known likeness is an 1801 wax miniature by Catherine Andras. Includes numerous illustrations in colour and black and white.
