Hitler's battleships / by Edwyn Gray.
An overview of the German Navy's use of Battleships during the Second World War. The account provides a chronological narrative, with the vast majority of the text focused on the German perspective. The rise of Germany's navy after the First World War is detailed, together with the battleships' early successes against the Allies and their subsequent failure to help win the war for Germany. As well as providing a narrative overview of the use of Battleships during the war, the book also takes a look at the command structure of the German Navy and how that impacted on the effectiveness of the Battleships. Also included is an appendix with technical details on all of the battleships, a bibliography for further reading, and a series of black and white photographs relating to the battleships.
