The Bibby line 1807- 1990 : the story of wars, booms and slumps

A history of the family-owned shipping company founded by John Bibby of Liverpool in 1807. Many of the company's ships were built by the Belfast firm Harland & Wolff, and they have become particularly associated with carrying troops overseas during conflicts and for the liner service taking passengers and cargo between the United Kingdom, Ceylon and Burma. Latterly the firm has been involved in the shipping of oil and gas, and diversifying into floating accommodation and financial services. The book contains illustrations including documents, paintings, prints, historical photographs, a comprehensive fleet list and family tree of the Bibby family.
