The last days of the Titanic
A selection of photographs from the wider collection of 42,000 photographs taken by Father Frank Browne. Browne, a keen photographer, travelled on the Titanic's maiden voyage from Southampton to Cherbourg disembarking at Queenstown (Cobh), Ireland. The book includes photographic facsimilies of Browne's own Titanic album, enlargements of the photographs he used in this and taken while on board, personal momentos such as brochures, menus and floorplans, supplementary photographs of the Titanic and her sister ship the Olympic, an article written by Browne about his time on board, correspondence from his fellow passengers and the last known photograph taken of Captain Smith. This collection also includes photographs of Queenstown showing the preparations leading up to the departure of a transatlantic liner. The photographs are supported by detailed captions.
