She has an occuli at the bow and her port number is painted twice of her hull The tops of her masts are out of the picture. The photographer's ship was at Tsingtao in the periods 22 July to 13 August 1937 and 17 August to 5 September 1937.

P34068; A distant starboard broadside view of a Yeungkong fisher type junk under sail in Sai Wan Bay off Lyemun, Hong Kong. She has single lug sails set on three masts. In the left background is the Japanese passenger liner Asama Maru (1929) aground awaiting refloating. She was blown aground during a hurricane on 2 September 1937 and was refloated in March 1938 after much material, including two of her four main engine, had been removed.

The Royal Fleet Auxiliary oiler Francol (1917) is at anchor in the distance. The photographer's ship was at Weihaiwei in the periods 3 June to 21 July 1937, 14 to 17 August 1937, 6 September to 7 October 1937, 8 June to 12 August 1938 and 20 August to 4 September 1938.

She has a large awning rigged above the waist, an occuli on the bow and her port number painted twice on her hull. The tops of her masts and her stern are out of the picture. P34116; Chinese passengers thronging the aft well deck of an unidentified passenger/cargo ship on a coastal or river voyage in Chinese waters. They include complete families of women and children and have brought their luggage and trappings with them. Awnings have been rigged over the after hatch and the poop. Two of the passengers have umbrellas, one has a bamboo parasol and a few are holding fans.

P34463; A starboard near broadside view, taken from only just ahead of the beam, of the sampan number 1170 being sculled at Shanghai. The sampan has a shelter amidships on which her number is displayed. The photographer's ship was in Northern Chinese waters in the periods 3 June to 10 October 1937 and 8 June to 4 September 1938.

P34286; A port side view, taken from well abaft the beam, of an Indian kotia type dhow anchored at Colombo, Ceylon. She has her foresail set and small boats are alongside her waist apparently working cargo. Her red ensign is not fully hoisted. In the right background are the bow of the Royal Navy heavy cruiser Cumberland (1926) and the midships of the passenger/cargo liner Cathay (1925). Negatives numbers P34286 and P34290 to P34295 inclusive are of the same vessel.

P34474; A starboard quarter view, taken from fine off the stern, of a fisher sampan pulled up on the beach at Weihaiwei. She has an open stern, raised bulwarks at the bow and stern and two pairs of thole pins on her bow. Her rudder has been unshipped and she is of a completely different hull construction to sampan 128. Negatives numbers P34472 to P34474 are of this boat.
