A two-masted Twaqo type junk moored bow-on to the shore at Singapore

A starboard very near broadside view, taken from only just ahead of the beam, of a Twaqo type two masted junk berthed bow-on to the shore at Singapore. The swim headed bow has an occuli. A thin pole mast set at the bow is sloping forward. The lug sails are stowed and the upper part of the masts are not in the picture. The lower part of the tiller operated rudder is perforated. A foot plank connects the boat to the shore. The photographer was at Singapore on four occasions during 1937 and 1938: 9 April to 1 May 1937, 13 January to 26 February 1938, 9 March to 23 March 1938 and 17 September to 30 September 1938.
