Invincible 74 guns commanded by Sir John Bentley Kt in the years 1749-1752 and of which this drawing was made by his Clerk during the time of St John's command. Sir John commanded the Invincible twice again in the year 1757 until she was lost in 1758 in the month of February she was one of the fleet attached to the fleet expedition against Louisburg under the direction of Adml Boscawen but was lost in turning out of Spithead on a shore in consequence of missing stays Sir John was tried...
