Triton (1882)
A half plate negative. A fair quality slightly distant port side view, taken from well ahead of the beam, of the training ship Triton (1882), formerly a paddle driven Royal Navy survey ship, at moorings in Gravesend Reach, River Thames. Her two funnels have been removed and awnings rigged. She is in use as a training hulk for the Gravesend Sea School. Two cargo steamers are on the right and Tilbury is in the background. The image is slightly unsharp. A copy of a Gould negative not held in the collection.
