Tilbury, Essex
        
        A 12x10 negative.  The main entrance gate to Tilbury Fort, known as the Watergate.  The photographer is looking north-east showing the main gate open and a three barrelled rifle calibre Nordenfelt gun mounted on a two wheeled carriage is standing in the entrance.  The stonework has been refurbished.   A soldier of the Royal Garrison Artillery is on the right.  A vertical format image.
