The house flag of Shaw Maxton and Co, London. The flag is made of wool bunting, machine sewn with a linen hoist. A rope and wooden toggle is attached.

A rectangular, red flag bearing a diamond in the centre divided vertically blue, white and blue.

A house flag of this design would have been flow by the famous tea clippers 'Falcon', 'Ariel' and 'Titania, all built by Robert Steele and Co, Greenock. Phillips, Shaw and Lowther changed their name to Shaw, Lowther & Maxton in 1865. The company was called Shaw, Maxton & Co from 1871-9. Its successor, Shaw, Bushby & Co adopted a different house flag.
