Battleships anchored at Spithead, Hampshire.
A distant port side view, taken from well abaft the beam, of the battleships anchored at the heads of Lines E and F at Spithead on Whit Sunday, preparing for the Coronation Review of the fleet by His Majesty King George VI. From left to right they are the Queen Elizabeth (1913), Nelson (1925), Rodney (1925) and Barham (1914). Beyond the Barham, which has an armed trawler alongside, and almost totally obscured, is the Royal Sovereign (1915). All of the battleships have awnings rigged amidships and aft.
