Two Mark I twin 8 inch gun turrets being assembled.
Two twin Mark I 8 inch gun turrets being assembled in the armament factory. The front turret has no roof, the guns have not yet been installed and the barbette has been drawn in. The rear turret is more complete, having had its guns fitted and part of the roof support fitted at the back of the turret. The face plate has "No. 3 shield 16035" stencilled on it and the right side has "No. 3 (or 5) shield 16062 R8" stencilled on it. A heavily masked and retouched copy negative of a photographic print.
