A port bow view, taken from the floor of the dock fine off the bow, of the general cargo heavy lift ship Empire Elaine (1942) dried out in a floating dock in 1947. The only location she visited during 1947 that had a floating dock was Portland, Oregon. She arrived at Portland 13 Aug. from Calcutta via Coos Bay, Oregon, and sailed for the U.K. 20 Aug. 1947.
