Metal and brass dip circle with attachments, used by Professor Stuart Malin at the Royal Greenwich Observatory, Herstmonceux, and Geomagnetism Unit, Institute of Geological Sciences, Edinburgh.
Attachments include: compass needle in box; three pairs of pivots in brass cylindrical box; rectangular brass box for mounting dip needles; black metal box containing two dip needles (3 and 4); magnifying glass; wooden mount for magnetising dip needles with brass retainer; wooden tool box containing three spare pivots in brass cylindrical box; screw driver; brush; brass knob with screw thread; pivot holder; steel tommy bar; two spacers for mounting compass; dip needles 1 and 2 in box. There are 18 numbered parts.
