Port Jackson (1882)
A whole plate negative. A slightly distant starboard bow view, taken from very wide off the bow, of the 4 masted barque rigged passenger/cargo liner Port Jackson (1882) at moorings in Gravesend Reach, River Thames. She has double topsails, double topgallants and single royals and also has painted ports. Washing is drying on a small ketch or yawl on the left and skiffs are in the foreground. Tilbury is in the background. The original negative has been discarded and a copy negative number 7268 is available.
