The music room of the Himalaya (1892)

A whole plate negative. A poor quality image of the interior of the music room on board the passenger/cargo liner Himalaya (1892), immediately prior to her entry into commercial service. This is a Gould copy negative of a Bedford Lemere original photographic print numbered 11607. The negative has been badly damaged by damp and a 12x10 photographic print produced from this negative in the 1950s also shown signs of this damage. A better version of this image is negative number G10512 from the Bedford Lemere collection.
