Yarmouth (1959) on board views on completion

A half plate sheet film negative. On board the Type 12 frigate Yarmouth (1959) alongside the south-east corner of the fitting out basin in John Brown & Co Ltd's shipyard at Clydebank. In the gunbay on 2 deck between 20½ and 25½ stations. The photographer is looking aft and to port from the starboard side of the bay showing bays 7, 8, 9 and 10. In bay 7 is the cartridge hoist, bays 8 and 10 contain shell holders and a ready use cartridge locker is in bay 9. A small control box is mounted on the girder between bays 8 and 9. The shell and cartridge troughs encircle the gun turret revolving platform.
